This training aims to support public health practitioners and researchers in deepening their knowledge about Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) terms, the health disparities faced by populations with different SOGIESC characteristics and identities, and things to consider when measuring SOGIESC. Part 1SOGIESC Health Disparities, provides an overview of terminology and examples of disparities affecting SOGIESC minority groups. Part 2SOGIESC Measurement, discusses various ways in which SOGIESC data is collected, as well as the considerations researchers and practitioners should take into account when designing measurement efforts.

This learning opportunity topic is aligned with one or more of the strategic skills.  

This learning opportunity addresses training topics identified in PHWINS 2017.
