Public Health Learning Navigator Privacy Policy
The National Network of Public Health Institutes (“NNPHI”) operates www.phlearningnavigator.org (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which NNPHI collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users of the Site (“Users” or “You”). The terms “we” and “our” throughout this Privacy Policy refer to NNPHI.
The Types of Information NNPHI Collects
- Log Data
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

NNPHI uses Google Analytics to serve “cookies” to enhance your experience with the Site. Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your computer's hard drive. NNPHI may use cookies to measure aggregate web statistics, such as collecting the number of Users to the Site, the number of repeat Users and the most popular webpages, to serve relevant content to Users as they browse the Internet, and for other purposes. - Personally-identifiable Information
While using our Site, you may voluntarily provide us with certain personally identifiable information. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name, email address, zip code, employer, and job title. NNPHI collects personally identifiable information, for example, when Users set up an account on the Site, when they nominate training programs for the Site, when they sign up to be a reviewer, or when they complete the “Ask a Librarian” or “Contact Us” forms.
How NNPHI Uses the Information that It Collects
NNPHI uses Users’ personal information to better understand how Users use the Site so that it can improve the Site and its offerings. NNPHI also uses personal information for the purpose for which the Users provided the information, in other words, to create an account on the Site, to review nominated training programs for the Site, to add a User as a reviewer, or to respond to an inquiry. If you provide NNPHI with your email address, NNPHI may add you to its email list and you may start to receive email communications from NNPHI. If, at any time, you wish to stop receiving emails from NNPHI, you may follow the unsubscribe instructions on the bottom of any email NNPHI sends you, or you can email NNPHI at communications@nnphi.org and ask to be removed from NNPHI’s email list.
How NNPHI Protects User Information
NNPHI adopts appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to help protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, but NNPHI cannot guarantee that your information is 100% secure.
Sharing Personal Information
NNPHI does not share your personally identifiable information with others, except as set forth below. NNPHI reserves the right to share personally identifiable information about Users when required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or to respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant. NNPHI may also share personally identifiable information if it believes it is necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of NNPHI or others.
NNPHI may also share personally identifiable information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of its business to another company. Moreover, NNPHI may share personally identifiable information about a User upon the User’s consent.
NNPHI may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personally identifiable information regarding Users with third parties.
Third Party WebsitesFor your convenience, NNPHI provides links to sites operated by organizations other than NNPHI ("Third Party Sites") that offer training that has been reviewed using NNPHI’s Quality Standards. NNPHI does not disclose your personally identifiable information to the operators of Third Party Sites. NNPHI does not endorse the Third Party Sites and does not control the content of Third Party Sites. NNPHI is not responsible for the privacy practices of these Third Party Sites. If you choose to click on a link to one of these Third Party Sites, you should review the privacy policy posted on such Third Party Site to understand how that Third Party Site collects and uses your personal information. This Privacy Policy covers only information collected through NNPHI’s Site. In addition, NNPHI does not currently respond to web browser “do not track” signals.
Compliance with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act
Protecting the privacy of the young is especially important. For that reason, NNPHI never collects information on the Site from those it knows are under 13, and no part of the Site is structured to attract anyone under 13. If NNPHI becomes aware of having information about anyone under 13, it will promptly delete the information.
California Privacy Rights
If you reside in California and have provided your personally identifiable information to NNPHI, you may request information once per calendar year about NNPHI’s disclosures of certain categories of your personally identifiable information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Such requests must be submitted to NNPHI by email addressed to communications@nnphi.org.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. NNPHI will revise the date at the bottom of this page whenever it makes any changes. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
Your Acceptance of These Terms
By using the Site, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this Privacy Policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
